Learn to Surf in Costa Rica!

With a focus on personalized attention and safety, Point Break Surf is the surf school of choice in Guanacaste. We use two instructors for every class (so groups of two get one on one attention!) and keep a strict 1:4 instructor – student ratio.

Never surfed before? No problem! Our surfing lessons are designed for beginners. We take our customers to Playa Grande, a world class beach where the waves are perfect for learning to surf.

We can also accommodate large groups and wedding parties.



Each three-hour morning or afternoon surfing lesson includes:

• Pick up and drop off from your hotel / accommodation
• Two hours of lessons on the beach & in the water
• Surf board & rash guard rental
• Post surf drinks on the beach!

Got Kids?

We LOVE kids. Our surf instructors will give your little rippers three hours of pure fun with an emphasis on safety. We also now have a learning surfboard designed just for kids! Check out our surfing lessons with kids video.

Cost?

• $45 (or 26,000 Colones) per person for surf lessons
• $15 to ride along & watch your family / friends surf
• Point Break Surf T-shirts available for $20.
• Payment by credit card accepted

Where?

We service those staying in Brasilito / Playa Conchal (Paradisus), Flamingo, and Potrero in Costa Rica's Guanacaste region. If you are staying at the Hotel RIU Guanacaste, Papagayo Hilton, JW Marriott / Hacienda Pinilla, or in Tamarindo, pleaset contact us on how we can accommodate you.

All of our regular lessons take place at Playa Grande. We offer special packages to Playa Avanellas.

Who?

Point Break Surf is run by Matt and Natasha and their two young boys, Alex and Finn (5 and 3 years old). Matt is a New Zealander and a former surf lifeguard at the famous Kare Kare Surf Club on Auckland's west coast. Natasha is an avid surfer and kiteboarder, and when not running around after her boys, handles operations.
